You’re worth it.
Simple words. Life-changing impact.
Last week in our advanced fatherhood class, a moment reminded us why we do what we do at the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative. A father in our program – let’s call him James – had texted me apologizing for needing a ride to class. Without thinking twice, I responded: “You’re worth it.”
What happened next stopped me in my tracks.
In our next class session, James opened up to the group. “I have only been told I’m worth it twice in my life,” he shared, his voice thick with emotion. “To have those words spoken over me by someone who barely knows me yet goes out of his way to help me… it changed me very deeply.”
James grew up without a father, like many men in our programs. They’ve spent years – sometimes decades – never hearing that they matter, that they have value, that they’re worth the investment of time and energy. This is the generational wound we’re working to heal at SpoFI.
Through our evidence-based 24-7 Dad program, we provide fathers with more than just parenting skills. We help them discover their inherent worth and value as men and fathers. Each week, we witness transformations as dads begin to see themselves differently – not as problems to be fixed, but as men with purpose and potential.
The Impact of Your Support For just $37.50, you can provide one hour of this life-changing training. A monthly commitment of $75 covers a father’s entire journey through our complete 24-7 Dad program – a journey that can heal generations of father wounds.
This Christmas season, we’re reminded of a profound truth from Scripture:
“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:18).
Each of us is worth it because we’ve been adopted into God’s family. We’re no longer orphans – spiritual or otherwise.
Right now, there are fathers in our community waiting to hear these words of affirmation:
- “You’re worth it.”
- “You can be the father your children need.”
- “Your life has purpose.”
Will you help us reach them?
