President & Founder
Ron’s passion for the fatherless was birthed in his experience as a volunteer
SpoFI Founder Ron Hauenstein is deeply passionate about building stronger fathers. A retired life insurance agent, Ron gained valuable insights into the importance of fatherhood through decades of volunteer service to people who struggled with homelessness, addiction and developmental disabilities in Fairbanks, Alaska and Spokane. Ron and many others founded SpoFI as a non-profit corporation in July of 2017.

Today he believes that “the most important thing we can do for the children of our community is keep their parents together.”
Through his experience with people who have struggled to overcome trauma and addiction, he believes the key to transformational change is to help people find their true identity in God.
Ron and his wife Becky have been married since 1975 and are Washington State University Cougars. They have two adult children, two grandchildren, and a large, extended family of SpoFI dads and their kids.
