We’re Excited for the Launch of “Dads About Fitness” (Dads AF)

Tonight we launched “Dads About Fitness” (Dads AF) at the Spokane Fatherhood Initiative (SpoFI). This program is a heartfelt addition to our array of father-focused initiatives designed to foster better health, stronger familial relationships, and a supportive community network. Here’s why I am particularly thrilled about this initiative:

  1. Deepening Fatherhood Engagement: DadsAF is not just a fitness program; it’s a gateway to deeper engagement in our children’s lives and our community. It symbolizes our commitment to holistic improvement—mentally, physically, and spiritually—for the dads we serve.
  2. Supporting Spiritual, Physical and Mental Health: The link between physical activity and mental health is well-established. By integrating fitness into our programs, we aim to provide dads with tools to enhance their well-being, which in turn can improve their interactions and relationships with their children and families.
  3. Community Building: Every class and session is an opportunity for fathers to connect, share experiences, and support each other in their personal and parental growth. This camaraderie is pivotal in creating a sustained impact, fostering an environment where dads feel understood and supported.
  4. Expanding Our Mission: The introduction of DadsAF is a step forward in our mission to restore the value of fatherhood. Fitness is a powerful medium through which fathers can demonstrate commitment, discipline, and care to themselves and their families, thereby setting a profound example for their children.
  5. Continued Growth and Learning: This program also represents our commitment to innovation and adaptability—key qualities that any organization dedicated to community service must embody. As we learn from DadsAF, we plan to refine and expand our offerings to meet the evolving needs of Spokane’s fathers.

A Special Thanks to Our Donors

Before we wrap up, a heartfelt thanks to our generous donors, whose support makes initiatives like DadsAF possible. Your commitment to improving the lives of fathers and their families in our community is truly inspiring. Thanks to your contributions, we can provide these valuable resources and continue to expand our impact.

Tonight is just the beginning. As we launch DadsAF, we highlight our vision that every child deserves a present, loving, and nurturing father. We’re excited to see how this new chapter will empower dads to not only be physically fit but also strong pillars for their families and communities.

Thank you for your support and belief in our mission.
